The ARCs are here!
Ever wonder how books get reviewed before they’re published?
Publishers order advance reader copies (ARCs) to send to literary review agencies, book bloggers, newspapers, journals, and magazines with the hope of getting favorable reviews. ARCs are also sent to bookstores to encourage store owners to carry the title once it’s published.
ARCs are not a completed copy of the book. There still might be typos or formatting errors. By printing several copies of the book ahead of time, these errors can be caught and corrected before the final version is published.
Receiving a box of ARCs is a major step toward publication!
